In this regard, Tesla staff told that the move was to prevent scalpers from resale after booking cars in advance. The Red Star Capital Bureau previously stated that the relevant person in charge of Tesla confirmed the authenticity of the “not resale commitment letter”.

However, on March 17, Tesla’s official customer service and sales staff both said that they did not know the “not resale commitment letter”. It is said that the “No Resale Commitment Letter” is a preventive measure against the recent phenomenon of individuals purchasing multiple Teslas at one time on the official website.

The purpose is to maintain a fair and transparent car buying experience for the majority of consumers and truly protect the rights and interests of consumers. Therefore, it will not have any impact on the normal car buying and overall experience of ordinary consumers.

Moreover, Tesla has raised prices three times in a week in a row, and all models of Model 3 and Model Y have raised prices. Due to hot orders and limited production capacity, Tesla’s delivery time has been as long as 4-5 months.

According to Tesla’s official website, the current delivery time of Tesla Model 3 is 16-20 weeks, and the various versions of Model Y are 10-20 weeks. Therefore, some Tesla orders from idle fish have exceeded USD 1572.
