Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max may be equipped with A15 chip

Ming-Chi Kuo said via Twitter that in the iPhone 14 series, only two Pro models will be upgraded to the A16 processor, and the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will still be equipped with A15.

In this regard, Ming-Chi Kuo further stated in the early hours of this morning that although TSMC’s high-end process supply is tight, he believes that this is more of a marketing or financial-oriented decision.

Moreover, Kuo pointed out that the cheaper iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max use the A15 chip to reduce cost pressures and achieve more differentiation from the two Pro models (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max).

Previously, Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed that all four new models may be equipped with 6GB RAM, the difference being that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max use LPDDR 5, and the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max use LPDDR 4X.

According to Apple’s iPhone naming rules, the four new iPhones in the second half of this year may be named iPhone 14 (6.1 inches), iPhone 14 Max (6.7 inches), iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 inches), and iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 inches).

This Monday, an industry insider Mobile Chip Daren also said that Apple’s chip stock for this year’s iPhone 14 series is 50 million A16 chips and 50 million A15 chips.
