When the parent account chooses to turn on the game lock, such as recharging to mainstream game manufacturers through Alipay, after entering the password, a face-swiping verification prompt will appear, and the payment can be made successful only if the parent is verified. Officials said that more than 150,000 users have opened it for one month since its launch.

According to the “Progress Report on the Protection of Minors in China’s Game Industry”, with the introduction of measures by major game manufacturers to guide minors to use online games in moderation, nearly 90% of minors have encountered anti-addiction restrictions when playing games, but they use parents playing games and recharging on mobile phones and accounts is still one of the challenges.
At the same time when the game lock is launched, Alipay also combines human-computer interaction, family verification, and other intelligent technologies to identify whether the account is used by minors.
At the beginning of this year, Alipay launched a youth model, and parents can set payment limits for their children’s accounts. If parents find that minors have been induced to play games or live recharge, they can also give feedback through the “Youth Protection” of the Alipay Report Center.
Moreover, Alipay game lock has been connected to about 70 mainstream game manufacturers. Currently, it supports the identification of deductions through the Alipay App and does not support the deduction of consumption in the Apple Store. The team is promoting access to more manufacturers and scenarios, and continuously optimizing functions.
