Samsung’s surround screen mobile phone’s design spotted

Letsgodigital revealed the design patent of Samsung’s surround-screen mobile phone and drew a rendering of the Samsung Galaxy surround-screen mobile phone according to the patent map.

Similar to the Xiaomi MIX Alpha, the Samsung Galaxy surround-screen phone is wrapped by the screen, with a screen-to-body ratio of more than 100%, and the visual effects are stunning.

It is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy surround screen phone supports the S Pen, and the camera is placed at the top of the screen. The cameras of the MIX Alpha are arranged vertically on the back of the fuselage.

At present, Samsung’s surround-screen mobile phone is still in the patent stage, and the possibility of mass production and commercial use cannot be ruled out in the future.

It is worth noting that in September 2020, Xiaomi was the first to release a surround-screen mobile phone, which is the aforementioned MIX Alpha. MIX Alpha is surrounded by a whole screen, and the screen ratio is as high as 180.6%.

In addition, the MIX Alpha adopts fingerprint technology under the flexible surround screen, and the traditional earpiece and distance sensor is removed from the top and replaced by the screen sound technology.

At the same time, it is equipped with a high-voltage drive linear motor, which realizes the double-sided pressure-sensitive screen to simulate the real key touch, replacing the physical lock screen button and volume key.

To sum up, judging from the actions of Xiaomi and Samsung, the surround screen is a new track being laid out by manufacturers, which is worth looking forward to.
