Huawei ranks first in 5G mobile phone market share in China

According to the latest report, the research agency released the “2021 5G Mobile Phone Report” 2021 5G Mobile Phone Report on a daily basis. As of the end of 2021, the market share of 5G mobile phones in the smartphone market has reached 28.0%, an increase of 2.3 times compared with the market share of 8.5% at the end of 2020.

The data shows that Huawei continues to lead the Chinese 5G mobile phone market with a market share of 29.2%; Vivo ranks second with a market share of 15.4%iPhone 5G mobile phones continue to explode in popularity with a market share of 14.1%, ranking third, compared with 2020.

At the end of the year, it ranked sixth in terms of market share, up to three places; OPPO ranked fourth with a market share of 13.6%; Xiaomi ranked fifth with a market share of 11.4%. The daily interactive analysis counts the market share of new 5G mobile phones in 2021. The higher the new market share, the higher the brand popularity. 

The data shows that in the whole year of 2021, Huawei is still the number one brand of domestic products in the minds of the Chinese people. Its 5G mobile phone has a new market share of 22.8%, ranking first; iPhone ranks second with a new market share of 17.5%.

Although its mobile phone models are not many, its new market share is among the best, showing the strong brand influence of iPhone; Vivo and OPPO ranked third and fourth; Xiaomi ranked with a new market share of 12.6% fifth.

Among the TOP20 new models with a new market share in 2021, the iPhone12 series has seized the top three; the Huawei nova7 series, P40 series and Mate30 series are on the list. From the analysis of the time to market of each model, among the TOP20 models, only 4 models are listed in 2021, namely iPhone13, Honor 50, Redmi K40, OPPO A93, and the rest are models listed in 2020.

It can be speculated that from the consumer side, compared with the high-frequency release of 5G mobile phone models, users are slightly behind in the replacement speed of 5G mobile phones. 5G mobile phones ushered in the first wave of replacement in 2020, and the next A wave of replacements has not yet formed.

Moreover, the data also shows that from the perspective of gender distribution, women accounted for 42.8% of 5G mobile phones by the end of 2021. The gender gap of 5G mobile phones is gradually narrowing, and it is approaching the proportion of the whole population.

From the perspective of age distribution, the proportion of 5G mobile phone users aged 24 and below continued to increase, accounting for 27.8%. Judging from the market share distribution of 5G Android mobile phones by age group, Vivo has a market share of 21.5% among people aged 24 and below, ranking first, Huawei ranks second, OPPO and Xiaomi ranks third and fourth.

From the perspective of consumption level, as of the end of 2021, the proportion of 5G mobile phone users with high consumption levels will reach 24.0%, which is further smaller than the proportion of people with the same consumption level in 2020.

From the perspective of urban distribution, compared with the end of 2020, the proportion of 5G mobile phone users in third- and fourth-tier cities at the end of 2021 is gradually increasing, reaching 19.4% and 28.9% respectively, and constantly narrowing the gap with first- and second-tier cities.
