Intel’s next-generation AI processor Habana Gaudi 2 appeared
Wccftech said they had a batch of leaked documents confirming that Intel will launch a new generation of AI processors/accelerators this year, known as the Habana Gaudi 2 platform, which targets Nvidia’s data center products for deep learning.

According to the leaked information, the Habana Gaudi 2 platform adopts the OCP-OAM shape and is equipped with 6 HBM memories. If it is HBM2 type, the total capacity will be 48GB, and if it is HBM3 type, the total capacity will be 96GB or more.
At the end of 2019, Intel announced the acquisition of Israel-based AI startup Habana Labs for $2 billion, the third AI startup Intel acquired after acquiring Mobileye for $15.3 billion, and Nervana for $350 million.
Furthermore, it provided two series of products, which are called Gaudi for AI training and Goya for AI inference, and the leaked files are only related to Gaudi 2. It is understood that the current Amazon AWS EC2DL1 instance is built using Intel’s Gaudi platform.
