Former Boeing 737 MAX technical pilot found not culpable in Texas trial

According to the latest report, a Texas jury found that former Boeing pilot Mark Forkner was not guilty of deceiving his FAA counterparts in the 737 MAX flight control system. The system was later blamed for two fatal crashes.

Moreover, a jury acquitted Mark Forkner of all four counts of wire fraud. Prosecutors allege Forkner defrauded American Airlines Group (AAL) and Southwest Airlines (LUV) to win tens of millions of dollars for Boeing. The maximum penalty for each count is 20 years in prison.

Moreover, during the development of the 737 MAX, Forkner was the chief technical pilot of the model. Previously, Forkne was accused of misleading the FAA about the flight control system MCAS to reduce the training time required for pilots to master the system, thereby making the model more attractive to airlines.
