The latest report released by TrendForce, a market research agency, shows that in 2021, the revenue of the world’s top ten IC design manufacturers will reach 127.4 billion US dollars, an annual increase of 48%.

In terms of vendor rankings, Qualcomm topped the list with $29.3 billion in revenue, an annual increase of 51%. According to TrendForce, the company’s revenue has grown significantly due to the 51% and 63% annual growth in sales of mobile phone SoCs and IoT chips respectively, as well as the diversification of RF and automotive chip businesses.
Moreover, Nvidia ranked second with $24.9 billion in revenue, up 61% year-on-year, and its gaming graphics card and data center revenue increased by 64% and 59%, respectively.
Furthermore, Broadcom ranked third with $21 billion in revenue, up 18% year over year. TrendForce pointed out that Broadcom benefited from the stable sales performance of network chips, broadband communication chips, and storage and bridge chips.
In terms of Taiwanese manufacturers, four of the world’s top ten IC design manufacturers are MediaTek, Novatek, Realtek, and Qijing Optoelectronics.
