Few mobile phone manufacturers may test Sony’s new 50MP 1/1.1 ultra-large bottom lens

According to the latest report, Sony launched the Xperia PRO-I mobile phone last year, using the same imaging technology as Sony’s Alpha micro-single series cameras, specially equipped with the same 1-inch image sensor as the black card, and targeting Xperia smartphones. The phone is optimized with a unit pixel pitch of 2.4µm.

Moreover, the revealer revealed that a mobile phone manufacturer is testing a mobile phone-based on 50mp 1/1.1± Sony CMOS. There is no indication of which one is, but Xiaomi and Huawei have had such rumors before, and it is not ruled out IMX800.

Sony began to develop CMOS image sensors in 1996 and launched the first commercial CMOS image sensor “IMX001” in 2000. In today’s mobile phone market, Sony’s Exmor image sensor occupies almost half of the country, but this series of sensors have many models and different parameters.

Furthermore, the outsole has a single 1.0μm large pixel, and the amount of light entering is greatly improved compared to the IMX586; while the Samsung GN2 has reached 1/1.12 inches, but the problems caused by the large size will also be compromised elsewhere.

From a technical point of view, the advantages brought by larger-sized photosensitive elements are obvious. The most intuitive is that a single pixel area is larger and can receive more light.

The 1-inch size is much larger than 1/1.7-inch, 1/2.3-inch, etc., and it is also quite strong in mobile phone sensors, so choosing the right size is a very important thing for most manufacturers.
