According to the latest report, the Indian industry body – India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) has announced that as part of the upgrade of semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, the organization plans to update the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali.

A report by the Indian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology details plans to upgrade Mohari’s SCL equipment, for which ISM will be responsible.
Moreover, India’s competitive advantage lies in semiconductor design, and Indian companies are taking on external design outsourcing, the committee’s report said.
Last month, the Indian government approved a huge investment plan to boost local semiconductors and display manufacturing capabilities.
