Moreover, Apple had provided bonuses of up to $180,000 to some chip design, hardware and operations engineers in December last year, and this batch of bonuses will be distributed to hardware and software engineers.
While the amount has grown, fewer engineers have received the special grant this time around, the sources said. According to reports, the bonuses this time range from $100,000 to $200,000. They are all restricted stocks that will be unfrozen within four years if employees stay at Apple and don’t jump to work at other companies.
