Fuchsia OS first launched last year on the first-generation Nest Hub smart display. For the most part, the Fuchsia OS project has been led by engineering director Chris McKillop.
Earlier, he was also responsible for building the first version of the iPhone OS (not yet called iOS), as well as Apple’s “Pink” operating system in the late 1980s.
After joining Google, McKillop also helped form the Flutter team and briefly worked on the Android TV team. The official Fuchsia OS tweet also confirmed the news of the departure, and it is unclear what McKillop’s next plans are.
