There aren’t many details about the feature yet, but the feature won’t be part of the existing clipboard panel and will have its own keyboard shortcuts. Additionally, users can manage a new clipboard panel from the settings.

Moreover, this new clipboard panel will be bundled with another related feature called Smart Actions. With the new Smart Clipboard and Smart Actions, users will be able to copy and paste rich content directly in applications like Outlook.

Based on the copied content, Windows 11 will suggest the application to perform the action. For example, if a user copies an email address, Windows 11 will recommend the Outlook app. The user can click on the suggested action to paste the content into the Outlook application.

Moreover, Microsoft will use machine learning to recommend apps based on the tasks users perform. It’s unclear when the feature will be announced, but it’s likely to be announced at Microsoft’s hybrid office event in April 2022.

At this event, Microsoft plans to give people a glimpse of the future of Windows for hybrid work, and the theme of the event is “Windows powers the future of hybrid work,” so the company will likely announce Windows 11 Smart Actions features.
