Capcom will increases base salaries for Japanese workers by 30%

Capcom announced plans to raise the wages of Japanese employees, as part of a broader change in its human resources business, which is expected to record a fifth consecutive year of profits.

Moreover, Capcom said on Thursday that the average base salary for Japanese employees will increase by 30% starting in the 2022 fiscal year on April 1, and a new bonus system will be introduced that is more closely tied to the company’s performance.

Capcom announced plans to boost employee pay while restructuring the company’s human resources department. Capcom said it is creating a new structure designed to facilitate communication between management and employees, led by a chief human resources officer, a newly created role for the company.

In the first three fiscal quarters ending in December 2021, Capcom reported the highest net sales and highest profit levels at the end of the third quarter in company history. Capcom will report its fiscal 2021 results in May when it is expected to announce its ninth straight year of operating income growth and its fifth straight year of record profits.
