IDC released a global PC monitor tracking report saying that in the fourth quarter of 2021, global PC monitor shipments fell by 5.2% year on year. Global PC monitor shipments for the full year of 2021 still exceeded expectations, increasing by 5.0% year-on-year to 140 million units, the highest level since 2018.

Moreover, IDC said that the market is increasingly saturated, and inflationary pressures brought about by the new crown epidemic and the Ukraine crisis will further accelerate the cooling of the market environment in 2022. IDC expects global monitor shipments to decline by 3.6% year-on-year in 2022.
The report shows that in the fourth quarter of 2021, China’s PC monitor market shipments were 8.16 million units, down 2% year-on-year. In 2021, China’s PC monitor market will ship 32.31 million units, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%, the highest growth rate in a decade.
IDC predicts that China’s PC monitor shipments will be less than 32 million in 2022, down 1.4% year-on-year.

In terms of gaming monitors, China will ship 3.13 million gaming monitors in 2021, a year-on-year increase of only 2.5%. It is estimated that in 2022, the shipment scale of e-sports monitors will be 3.93 million units, a year-on-year increase of 25.7%.

In terms of curved displays, China will ship 2.2 million curved displays in 2021, down 31.2% year on year.
