Market research company SNE Research released data on March 31, showing that the power battery shipment data for the first two months of this year totaled 53.5 GWh, an increase over the previous year by more than 100%.

The data shows that in the first two months, the shipment and market share of CATL’s power batteries were 18.4 GWh and 34.4%, respectively, ranking first. LG Energy Solution’s battery usage was 7.4 GWh, an increase of 37.6% from a year ago, placing it in second place. BYD beat Panasonic to take third place with an 11.9% market share.
Moreover, Panasonic fell to fourth place on the list with a data ranking of 5.8 GWh and 10.8%. SK On Battery, a power battery supplier for Hyundai Ioniq5, Kia Niro, Kia EV6, and other models, increased its shipments from 1.4 GWh to 3.5 GWh, and its market share increased from 5.4% to 6.5%, ranking fifth.
Last month, global shipments of electric vehicle power batteries were 25.9GWh, a 20th consecutive month of growth.
