Previously, display analyst Ross Young said, “Under the display Face ID will appear on the iPhone 16, while under-display Touch ID will not appear.”
Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple’s iPhone 15/16 series will not use under-screen Touch ID fingerprint recognition, because Face ID, which supports wearing masks on iPhone, is already a good biometric technology solution.
In the iOS 15.4 system update, Apple supports the unlocking and use of Face ID under a mask on the iPhone 12 and later models.
