According to the latest report, AMD has confirmed to it that a bug in the AMD GPU driver is indeed changing the Ryzen CPU settings in the BIOS without permission. This situation led to the automatic overclocking of Ryzen CPUs without the user’s knowledge.
Moreover, AMD also said it is investigating the issue and will share more information soon. AMD originally added support for automatic CPU overclocking to its GPU driver last year, and the idea was to add a Ryzen Master module to the adrenaline driver to simplify the overclocking experience. Users with Ryzen CPUs and Radeon GPUs can overclock both using one interface.
At present this problem should only appear on the “3A” platform of AMD CPU + AMD graphics card. A user has already removed the Ryzen Master SDK from the GPU driver using Radeon Software Slimmer. Affected users are advised to wait for AMD’s official solution.
