Global cellular IoT module revenue in Q4 2021 rose by 58% year-on-year: Counterpoint

Counterpoint’s latest report shows that global cellular IoT module revenue in Q4 2021 will increase by 58% year-on-year. China leads the entire cellular IoT module market, accounting for more than 40% of revenue.

Moreover, the report pointed out that the Indian market was the fastest-growing market, with a year-on-year increase of 154%. 5G technology was the fastest growing (324% YoY) technology in cellular IoT modules, followed by 4G Cat 1 (105% YoY). Routers/CPEs, PCs, and Industrial are the top applications of 5G technology.

In addition, in 2021, global cellular IoT module shipments and revenue will increase by 59% and 57% year-on-year, respectively. Furthermore, automotive, router/CPE, industrial, PC, and POS are the top five cellular IoT application areas by revenue. Drones, PCs, and routers/CPEs are the top three fastest-growing segments.
