Moreover, the project construction will start this spring and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024. According to sources, the data center is likely to be powered by 100% renewable energy. Currently, Meta has invested more than 700 megawatts of new wind and solar energy in Texas.
As the entire society continues to develop towards digitalization and intelligence, the demand for data traffic and cloud services is increasing, and data centers have become one of the fastest-growing power consumption devices in the world.
In this context, China has proposed the dual-carbon goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, of which the transformation of data centers to greening is a major point. In this process, the use of energy technology and digitalization will play a big role.
