According to the latest report, wafer foundry UMC and World Advanced announced their March 2022 revenue, both hitting a record high, and the two companies merged in the first quarter. Receipts also hit a single-season record high.
Among them, UMC’s consolidated revenue in March was NT$22.14 billion, an increase of 6.4% month-on-month, and its revenue reached a new high for 6 consecutive months, an increase of 33.2% year-on-year.

Moreover, the cumulative first-quarter consolidated revenue exceeded NT$60 billion in Taiwan dollars amounted to NT$63.422 billion (approximately RMB 14.016 billion), an increase of 7.3% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 34.7%, which was better than expected.
Furthermore, World Advanced’s consolidated revenue in March exceeded NT$5 billion for the first time, reaching NT$5.068 billion, an increase of 19.4% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 41.4%. World Advanced said that the increase in wafer shipments and a better product mix were the main driving forces behind the record-high revenue in March.
In addition, World Advanced’s cumulative first-quarter consolidated revenue was NT$13.492 billion (approximately RMB 2.982 billion), in line with the company’s financial forecast of NT$13.2 billion to NT$13.6 billion, an increase of 5.9% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of about 47%.
