Officials say it will not restrict access to security patches for Russian Ubuntu users but will use all Russian subscription revenue for such maintenance to humanitarian causes in Ukraine.

Moreover, Canonical is actively supporting all colleagues affected by this war to maximize their financial, emotional, and physical safety, as well as colleagues around the world who are involved in helping and hosting victims and refugees.

Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, a number of IT companies have announced the suspension of their business in Russia, such as Microsoft, Apple, Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and so on.

For those who don’t know, Ubuntu is a Linux operating system based on desktop applications, which is widely used all over the world.
