Moreover, Apple first started producing the iPhone, the iPhone SE, in India in 2017. Currently, some iPhones are assembled at Foxconn’s local factories, while others are assembled at Wistron’s factories.

In the first quarter of this year, CyberMedia Research (CMR) estimates that Apple’s iPhone shipments may grow by more than 20% year on year, with the iPhone 13 series accounting for nearly 17% of total iPhone shipments.

Furthermore, the iPhone 13 produced in India is not only available to India’s home market, but also to other markets, such as the US market, for the first time. Apple also launched its Indian online store in September 2020 and will soon open its own Apple Store retail store in the country.

“With Apple’s iPhone production growth in India, aggressive retail trials, and marketing initiatives, we expect Apple to maintain growth in India despite potential risks,” said Prabhu Ram, Head of Industry Intelligence (IIG) at CMR.
