iOS 15.4 is the latest system update for the Studio Display, and as of last weekend, Apple had not signed off on the system update, preventing system updates for the display from working properly.
A few hours later, Apple re-signed iOS 15.4 for Studio Display, allowing users to finally upgrade the system normally. The Studio Display equipped with the A13 processor does run the iOS 15.4 system, which is also the latest system update for the display.
While the monitor does run iOS, its system updates are not consistent with typical iOS and iPad OS updates. Apple released iOS and iPadOS 15.4.1 for iPhone and iPad users last month, but Studio Display still uses iOS 15.4.
In addition, Apple promised to provide an update for the Studio Display to address the poor quality webcam but did not provide a timeline for the update.
