Apple’s iOS 16 may bring new notification system

According to the latest report, Apple previously announced that it will hold the WWDC22 Global Developers Conference on June 7, and is expected to release many new systems such as iOS 16 and iPad OS 16, and there are still two months.

But now there have been some rumors about the update breaking out. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported this week that iOS 16 will bring an updated notification system, as confirmed by Apple’s latest beta software code.

As Gurman describes it, iOS 16 will feature “considerable overall enhancements, including updates to notifications.” While he didn’t share in-depth details about the changes, 9to5Mac found in the code of the macOS 12.4 developer preview beta that Apple is planning big changes to focus mode.

Moreover, Focus Mode is a feature introduced with iOS 15 and macOS Monterey 12 that lets users manage which apps and notifications they want to see at different times of the day. With the future rollout of iOS 16 and macOS 13, Apple has displayed a warning message for a new string added to the Focus Mode beta, telling users that the selected focus mode requires a software update to be enabled.

Interestingly, Apple also seems to have been working on new features for Apple News. According to the code of the iOS 15.5 Beta, there will be new content in the News app but requires iOS 16. This time, however, Apple has added a new list of devices that cannot update to this new version of iOS, suggesting the company will drop support for some iPhone and iPad models this year.

Furthermore, Gurman’s latest report also mentions that a new multitasking interface for iPadOS 16 is in the works, as well as a new health-tracking feature for watchOS 9. iOS 16 is expected to be unveiled at WWDC22 in June this year, and the official release will be this fall.
