Moreover, the first equipment arrived in Ireland from Intel’s technology development facility in Oregon, meaning Fab 34 will be the first outside the facility to run the new EUV technology.
Furthermore, the equipment consists of 100,000 parts, 3,000 cables, 40,000 bolts, and more than a mile of hose. It took Intel 18 months of design and construction activities to prepare Fab 34 to receive the machine.
The building is designed around the lithography machine, which spans four floors of the factory, contains a built-in crane, extends to a 3-meter-high ceiling, and requires about 700 connections for electrical, mechanical, chemical, and gas supplies.
