Google released free app for iOS to easily transfer data from iPhone to Android

Posted on

According to the latest report, Google quietly launched a free app for iOS to help iPhone users easily transfer data from iPhone to Android phone when switching to Android phone.

The app, called “Switch To Android,” works wirelessly, meaning there’s no need to use a cable to connect the two phones when transferring data. The app’s description on the App Store states, “Google’s Switch to Android app helps you quickly and securely transfer your most important data types (photos, videos, contacts, and calendar events) to a brand new Android device, while no need for cumbersome data cables.”

Officially, there is no mention of message data, so the app doesn’t seem to be able to transfer message data, but it guides users on how to turn off iMessage so “you don’t miss text messages from friends and family.”

It is worth mentioning that this application is not currently listed on the App Store, which means that when searching for the App Store on the iPhone, the application cannot be found.

However, users can click a link to download it directly, and Google didn’t respond to any questions about when the app will officially hit the App Store. In 2015, Apple provided a similar application to help users migrate from Android to iPhone, called “Move to iOS”, so Google is 7 years behind Apple.
