Cumulative installed capacity of openEuler system surpasses 1.3 million: Huawei Jiang Dayong

At today’s openEuler developer conference, Jiang Dayong, vice president of Huawei’s Kunpeng computing domain and director of the openEuler community, revealed the latest progress of openEuler.

In September 2021, Huawei upgraded Euler from a server operating system to an operating system for digital infrastructure. Huawei said it will build two open-source operating systems, Hongmeng and Euler.

Jiang Dayong revealed at the conference that the openEuler open source community has developed 330 community partners and 8,403 community developers. 

At present, openEuler has a cumulative installed capacity of 1.3 million+ sets, which has crossed the ecological inflection point and is expected to reach 2 million sets in 2022. openEuler is the No. 1 new market share in the government market, operators, finance, and other industries in 2021.

This time, openEuler 22.03 LTS is officially released. This is also the first full-scenario version jointly built by the community. It supports multiple chip architectures such as x86, ARM, and RISC-V, and supports four scenarios of server, cloud computing, edge computing, and embedded. Covers all scenarios of digital infrastructure.

Moreover, Jiang Dayong said that in 2022, the openEuler community will cooperate with a number of colleges and universities to train talents, and Huawei and Euler’s industry partners will jointly invest 100 million yuan to accelerate the development of Euler’s talents.
