Samsung phones usually have great displays, but that doesn’t mean they’re perfect. According to Android Police, last year’s Galaxy S20’s screen was revealed to be broken one after another, with a green tint on the phone and obvious lines across the screen, and now the Galaxy S20’s screen problems seem to be back.

According to some users on Twitter (shrinu16, Thesourya2000, amla_sharouk), Reddit (u/bananabanana9876), and Samsung customer forums, their Galaxy S20 phones have purple or green lines across the display.
Many people who encountered this problem pointed out that the problem occurred days after updating the phone’s software, but given that some of these cases date back to August 2021 and some occurred this week, it’s unclear if the problem was caused by the software update or something else.
Since the Galaxy S20 series has been on sale for more than two years, to solve this particular display problem, it is likely that users will need to pay for repairs out of their own pockets. If the problem is widespread, expect Samsung to offer a free repair, but the company has yet to officially acknowledge the problem.
