Uber announced it will restart ride-sharing service in Kyiv

According to the latest report, Uber announced that it will restart the ride-sharing service in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, on Thursday, with the goal of supporting a “return to normal as soon as possible.”

The move was announced seven weeks after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Uber EMEA regional manager Anabel Diaz said on Thursday: “To support the recovery, Uber will not charge any fees for any trips, meaning riders pay The full fare will be paid directly to the local driver.”

In addition, Uber has donated 10,000 free rides to city employees and other emergency responders who provide basic rescue services to the citizens of Kyiv. For the past month, Uber has been providing refugees with free rides from the Ukrainian border to Polish cities.

Furthermore, Uber’s biggest competitor, Lyft, doesn’t operate in Ukraine but does have employees in the country, and Lyft said it was providing financial support.
