Russia’s ‘Proton-M’ rocket will release ‘AngoSat-2’ satellite

According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, a source at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan said that the Russian “Proton-M” heavy rocket that had previously arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome will be launched. Put Angola’s Angosat-2 communications satellite into orbit in 2022.

The source said that a train carrying two Proton-M rockets has arrived at the launch site, one of which will be used to launch the Angosat-2 satellite. Since the exact launch date is undetermined, the rocket will be sealed after assembly. Preparations for launch should begin by the end of June.

Moreover, Rogozin, President of Roscosmos, said in an interview earlier that two “Proton-M” heavy rocket launches are planned in the summer and late autumn of 2022. Currently, all three Proton rockets scheduled to launch in 2022 are located at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
