MSI team overclocks i9-12900KS processor to 7.5GHz

At the beginning of this month, the Intel i9-12900KS was officially launched, and the MSI team overclocked it to 7.45GHz on the day of its debut. Now, MSI’s Japanese overclocking team has broken another record, overclocking the i9-12900KS processor to 7.5GHz.

According to reports, the motherboard MSI used this time is MEG Z690 Unify-X, which uses liquid nitrogen for cooling, and the i9-12900KS reaches 7.503GHz with 2 active cores enabled and hyperthreading disabled.

Moreover,  the i9-12900KS is designed with 8 large cores + 8 small cores, of which the main frequency of the small core is 2.5GHz and the turbo frequency is 4GHz, which is 100MHz higher than that of the i9-12900K; the main frequency of the large core is 3.4GHz and the turbo frequency is 5.5 GHz, which is 300MHz higher than i9-12900K.

Furthermore, the basic power consumption of this processor is 150W, which is 25W higher than that of the i9-12900K, and the maximum turbo power consumption is 241W, which is the same as the i9-12900K. The i9-12900KS is available now, priced at USD 894.
