Android developer Kuba Wojciechowski found evidence from the Pixel Tips app that Google won’t support the camera’s motion mode on the Pixel 6a. In the Pixel Tips app, details about motion modes are encoded to display on “PIXEL_2021_EXPERIENCE” devices, which include the first-generation Tensor Processor on the 6a, but specifically, exclude the codename “bluejay”.

Moreover, the Pixel 6a will most likely not support the motion mode of the Google Camera app. Motion Mode, first introduced on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, creates effects that accentuate movement around your subject. It’s unclear why Google might be excluding Sport mode from the Pixel 6a, but it may have something to do with the older camera hardware.
