For cards with enhanced fraud protection, the pop-up said that when a user makes an online or in-app transaction, the device will evaluate the user’s Apple ID, device, and location information, and Apple will use these evaluations to identify and prevent fraud.

In addition, Apple said it will share “fraud prevention assessments as well as transaction information” with the credit card network, including the purchase amount, currency, and date and users can’t turn off sharing.

Currently, the feature is only available to Visa users worldwide, and as of Thursday, MasterCard and American Express cards were not yet supported.
