Price of TV panels dropped sharply in late April: TrendForce

TrendForce announced on the 20th that TV panel quotations for late April showed that all sizes fell sharply compared with March, with 65 inches down by as much as 8.3%, 55 inches, 43 inches, and 32 inches down by 3.7%, 7%, and 5% respectively.

Mainly affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the control of the epidemic in Shanghai, China. The report shows that IT panel quotations also fell, with 27-inch, 23.8-inch, and 21.5-inch desktop monitor panels down 4.8%, 5.4%, and 6.8%, respectively. The 17.3-inch, 15.6-inch, 14-inch, and 11.6-inch laptop panels fell 5.4%, 4.9%, 7.1%, and 7.8%, respectively.

The report quoted US-based foreign institutions as pointing out that with the decline in notebook computer and monitor shipments, price pressure will follow, and the decline in IT panels in the second quarter may reach 15%-17%, and it is likely to maintain a continuous downward trend.

In terms of manufacturers, the agency believes that both AUO and Innolux’s panel shipments and ASP in the first quarter were lower than expected. Compared with the two, they are more optimistic about BOE’s OLED profitability and the growth space of its valuation.
