Alex Wilcox revealed that the agreement with SpaceX covers up to 100 aircraft services JSX currently has 77 30-seat Embraer jets in its fleet. It is worth mentioning that Wilcox, who was JetBlue Airways’ product development director, was very positive about this matter, “SpaceX engineers are incredible.”
He expects the service to be available by the fourth quarter. Currently, Starlink aircraft antennas have been installed on JSX aircraft for testing purposes.
However, Wilcox declined to provide financial details about JSX’s contract with SpaceX. He pointed out that JSX will provide passengers with Starlink services free of charge, and can connect to the Internet without logging in.
In addition, Delta Air Lines is conducting exploratory tests of Starlink technology, and SpaceX has been negotiating with the airline industry for months to provide Starlink in-flight internet service. They believe that Starlink is a key link in SpaceX’s strategy to attract consumers and corporate customers in regions of the world without Internet access.
