Later this year, Apple will stop providing mobile device management (MDM) solution Fleetsmith for device administrators. Apple announced in a support document that Fleetsmith has ceased new user registrations on April 21, 2022. Existing Fleetsmith users can continue to use the service until October 21, 2022.

After October 21st, users will no longer be able to log into the service and devices will no longer receive configuration files from the Fleetsmith server. Fleetsmith is an MDM tool whose essence is to allow users to securely configure devices wirelessly, regardless of whether the device is owned by the user or their organization.

Moreover, Fleetsmith allows users to oversee a range of Apple products, and automatically manage applications, settings, and security preferences, while simultaneously implementing best IT and security practices.

Furthermore, Apple acquired Fleetsmith in June 2020, and many Apple devices have the framework built-in. To help users migrate to other MDM solutions before Fleetsmith is discontinued, Apple provides support documents to help users choose an MDM solution and plan their MDM migration.
