GIGABYTE announces new PCIe 5.0 Ready Power Supply

After the announcement of the new generation of power supplies from ASUS and MSI, Gigabyte also announced a new PCIe 5.0 Ready power supply. The new Gigabyte power supply is equipped with a new 16pin 12VHPER interface, and the cable is marked with a 600W mark. The official said that using the new power supply can achieve a 600W power supply for the RTX 3090 Ti with a single wire.

At present, Gigabyte has not announced the power of the new power supply. Wccftech has revealed MSI’s upcoming 1300W power supply. This power supply adopts Intel’s latest ATX 3.0 standard and is equipped with a new 16pin “PCIe 5.0” power supply interface.

This series of power supplies support the GI (Gaming Intelligence) function, which realizes some intelligent functions through the built-in MPU processor, such as monitoring the percentage of power supplied to the GPU and CPU and the total system power used; the intelligent fan mode can automatically detect the power load and internal temperature to adjust the fan speed.

Moreover, ASUS also released a new ROG Thor series power supply with a high power of 1600 W but has not announced whether it supports the ATX 3.0 standard.

It is expected that after NVIDIA releases a new generation of graphics cards in the second half of this year, power supplies equipped with the new 16pin 12VHPER interface will be launched in large numbers.
