According to the latest report, TrendForce said that in 2022, Taiwan will account for about 48% of the global 12-inch wafer foundry production capacity. The round production capacity is more than 50%, and the market share of advanced processes below 16nm (inclusive) is as high as 61%.

It is reported that the market share of semiconductor output value in Taiwan in 2021 is 26%, ranking second in the world; IC design and packaging and testing industries account for 27% and 20% of the world, ranking second and first in the world; wafer foundry market the occupancy rate ranked first with 64%.
Moreover, Taiwan currently has wafer fabs such as TSMC, UMC, Vanguard, and PSMC. TrendForce predicts that the market share of foundry capacity in Taiwan will drop slightly to 44% in 2025. Among them, the market share of 12-inch wafer capacity is 47%; the advanced process capacity is about 58%.
In addition, TrendForce said that by 2025, Taiwan will still have 44% of the world’s foundry capacity, and even 58% of the world’s advanced process capacity.
