How to turn off automatic updates
- Type Edit group policy to find the group policy editor and click the first result
- Now, under Computer Configuration, tap on Administrative templates
- Double click Windows Components and scroll down to Windows update
- Search Configure automatic updates
- dialog box will pop up on the screen
- Press the radio button that prompts Disabled
- Click on Apply and Hit OK
You can now, open your Windows update settings to check the difference. You will be displayed a warning about update policies, and automatic updates being disabled.
