Google Chrome may support taking notes directly on web pages

According to information found by Reddit users, the preview content of web notes appears in the Google Chrome Canary version, which allows users to take notes directly on web pages and can be synchronized across multiple devices.

In March of this year, code submissions related to web notes appeared on Chromium Gerrit, suggesting that Chrome will launch related features. It was not until nearly 4 months later that this feature finally started to preview.

According to the experience of Reddit users, taking notes on the Chrome browser web page is similar to the note-taking function in the PDF file of the Microsoft Edge browser. Users can click and drag the cursor to select text on the screen, then right-click to open the context menu and select the Add Note option.

After adding a note, the selected text will be highlighted in purple. Likewise, users can right-click on displayed images and links and attach notes to them. Additionally, Chromium Gerrit mentions a sidebar where all saved notes will be displayed.

When the user views the webpage where the note was created before, the panel will automatically appear, and clicking on any note in the panel will jump to the corresponding text position. Users can also edit or delete notes, although editing is not available in the current version.

Moreover, the Microsoft Edge browser has been able to add notes in PDF files before, but it can only be added in PDF files, and the scope of use is not as wide as Chrome’s new features. Do you like this new feature?
