US and UK enter into agreement to give each other access to Internet user data

Created in 2019 as the CLOUD Act, the agreement, which allows countries to tackle serious crimes including terrorism, child abuse, and cybercrime, will come into effect on October 3, 2022.

“The data access agreement will allow us to more quickly access service provider data in both countries, including information and evidence held in connection with the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of serious crimes,” the DOJ said.
