Since 2014, Kim worked for Apple for around nine years after working for Texas Instruments and Qualcomm. Notably, the former Apple semiconductor expert studied at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Industry experts say that it’s not good to see Samsung has hired a semiconductor expert from Apple, and it could bring bitterness in relations between both tech giants. Everyone knows, that Samsung and Apple are traditional competitors in the smartphone market.

We saw the Exynos processors are not so good so far and can’t compete with even Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets. However, Samsung is likely to get benefit from the ex-Apple employee as it’s focusing on technology development in the packaging field.
