Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will continue to use 10MP periscope telephoto lens

We reported a month ago that the Samsung Galaxy S23 / Plus may use the same telephoto camera as the Galaxy S22 / Plus, that is, a 10MP telephoto lens that supports triple zoom. Now, Galaxy Club reports that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra may also have the same telephoto lens as the previous-generation S22 Ultra.

Galaxy Club claims that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s periscope telephoto lens uses the same specs as the previous generation (10x zoom, 10MP pixels), and of course, Samsung could improve the camera in other ways, but it doesn’t reflect the basic specs at this point.

In addition, the Galaxy S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra also have a second triple 10MP telephoto lens, and it’s uncertain if this will change on the S23 Ultra. In terms of the main camera, @UniverseIce previously said that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will use a 200-megapixel main camera, but the sensor has not yet been announced.

But according to the source, it is speculated that the S23 Ultra will be upgraded from the current model’s 108MP HM3 sensor (1/1.33″, 0.8μm pixels) to a 200MP sensor (probably HP1, 1/22″, 0.64μm). In terms of processors, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will only be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, not Samsung’s own Exynos 2300 processor.
