Apple is accidentally sending iTunes Connect emails to users

Apple recently mistakenly sent emails to users asking them to update their iTunes Connect banking information, but users who received emails often did not distribute content through the service.

Users took to Twitter to share their confusion over the email, which read: “We are contacting you because your bank information in iTunes Connect is invalid and needs to be corrected to ensure successful payment of any money owed to you. ”

For many users, the email was signed by the Apple Music team, which meant the user who received the email was an artist with content on “Apple Music.” For reference, producers, artists, writers, etc. use iTunes Connect to distribute their content on Apple platforms.

One user said, “Looks like I became a musician overnight – iTunes Connect knew this first. The mail was sent by Apple servers. But App Store Connect had no problem showing my bank details, and many others Received the email as well, which looks like a technical error.”

“Once your banking information is corrected, it may take up to two payment cycles for your payment to be sent. If you have any questions, please contact us,” the email continued. For users who don’t use iTunes Connect, it’s probably safest to just ignore the email.
