Google responds to rumors regarding shut down cloud gaming platform Stadia

It was previously reported that Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia will be closed at the end of this summer, but after someone asked the official, Google bluntly said, “Stadia is not closed, please rest assured, we have been working hard for this platform and Stadia Pro bring more great games .”

Last year Google closed Stadia’s first-party studio to focus on making a game platform, and then Google Stadia’s vice president and product director John Justice left, Google also said that Stadia “is still alive and well”.

Previous games such as Supermassive Games’ “Quarry” and Squanch Games’ “High on Life” were supposed to be Stadia exclusives, but failed for some reason and became traditional games.

Beyond that, a Business Insider report says Google is currently “de-prioritizing” the platform’s consumer business to focus on white-label deals with brands like Peloton, AT&T, and more. Google has yet to respond to the report.
