On July 18, Apple added a section called “Leaving Arcade Soon in the Arcade area of the App Store. The first batch of 15 games to be removed, including Spelldrifter (Spell Ronin), Projection: First Light (projection: dawn), Lifeslide (life glide), EarthNight (earth night), Cardpocalypse (card apocalypse), Dead End Job, etc., these games are no longer searchable in the App Store.

According to a new announcement released by Apple on July 25, users who previously downloaded the game can continue to play for “at least two weeks” after the game is removed from Apple Arcade. That is, it will be playable until August 16th, and possibly beyond that time. If the user wants to continue playing after this time, they will receive a “No Longer Available” message.

After a game is removed from Apple Arcade, developers may choose to make the game available to all users on the App Store, Apple said. But the App Store version of the game may not be the same as the Apple Arcade version. If the developer chooses to allow users to load their saved progress in the App Store version of the game, the user can then resume the game where they were in the Apple Arcade version. Otherwise, the user must restart the game.

As for the reason for the game’s removal, according to the source, it was reported that when Apple Arcade first launched, Apple signed three-year agreements with some developers, and apparently, some of those contracts were close to expiring and would not be renewed.

Apple launched a new subscription game service Apple Arcade in September 2019. Users can play more than 200 games without ads and without in-app recharge for a monthly fee of $4.99.
