Microsoft Outlook Lite released for low-end Android phones

Last month, Microsoft is preparing an Outlook Lite app for Android, which will provide core Outlook functionality while removing extras and reducing the performance and storage requirements of entry-level cheap Android devices. It now appears that Microsoft has launched the Outlook Lite application in some regions.

According to the Google Play Store, the Outlook Lite app is only 5MB in size. According to the description, it supports Outlook, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Online.

Store introduction: With Microsoft Outlook Lite, stay connected and protected with secure email, calendar, and contacts in one app. With smart email, spam protection, calendar organizer, and contacts, Outlook Lite makes it easier and faster to do more from your inbox on any network.

Other features include less storage space, fast performance, better battery utilization, and connectivity across all networks, including 2G. Core Outlook features such as Inbox, Calendar Scheduling, Search, Contacts, and Spam Protection are still available.

Outlook Lite is currently available in these countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Venezuela, and more.

Based on the list above, it is clear that Microsoft is looking for market penetration in emerging countries where there are more low-end Android phones.
