According to research firm Strategy Analytics, in the global 5G smartphone market in Q2 2022, Apple will continue to lead the 5G smartphone market; Samsung has become the world’s fastest-growing major manufacturer; Vivo and OPPO’s 5G Smartphone shipments saw double-digit declines; in India and China, Honor and Lenovo-Motorola saw the fastest growth, taking share from OPPO and Vivo.

At the end of July this year, Strategy Analytics released a report saying that global smartphone shipments in Q2 2022 will drop by 7% year-on-year to 291 million units. Among them, Samsung ranks first in the global smartphone market with a market share of 22%. Apple came in second with a 16% market share, the highest Q2 performance in the past decade. Xiaomi, OPPO (including OnePlus), and Vivo remain in the top five.

Samsung shipped 62.5 million units, with a market share of 21.5%, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%;

Apple shipped 47.5 million units, with a market share of 16.3%, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%;

Xiaomi shipped 39.5 million units, with a market share of 13.6%, a year-on-year decrease of 25.2%;

OPPO shipped 27.7 million units, with a market share of 9.5%, a year-on-year decrease of 26.1%;

Vivo shipped 24.9 million units, with a market share of 8.6%, a year-on-year decrease of 21%.
Demand for Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S22 series continues to be strong, especially for the pricier S22 Ultra model. In addition, sales of Apple’s iPhone 13 series continued to grow in the U.S., China, and other key markets during the quarter.
