Urbanista officially announced its solar-powered earbuds

According to the latest report, Urbanista officially announced its solar-powered earbuds today. Like Urbanista’s solar-powered over-ear headphones last year, the Phoenix wireless headphones use Exeger’s Powerfoyle solar panels, which allow users to charge from the sun. However, the solar panel of the Phoenix wireless headset is not installed in the headset body, but on the charging box.

Because of the size of the solar panel, Urbanista is excusable to install the solar panel on the charging box, but this means that if the user wants to use solar energy to charge, the charging box needs to be taken out of the pocket or bag, placed in the sun. And if Urbanista can install the solar battery on the headphone body, the user can complete the charging when the user wears it normally outdoors, and the charging will be more convenient.

According to Urbanista, the headphone body of the Phoenix wireless headset can provide 8 hours of battery life, and the charging box can provide 32 hours of battery life. And users can listen to songs for one hour by placing the charging box in direct sunlight for one hour.

According to Giovanni Fili, CEO of Exeger, the Phoenix Wireless Earphones are the world’s first solar-powered true wireless earphones. Although a company had previously launched a crowdfunding campaign to crowdfund a similar headset, the final product did not ship.

In terms of specific configuration, the Phoenix wireless earphones are available in black and pink colors and support IPX4-level waterproofing, which is resistant to sweat. The headset supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Active Noise Cancellation and can connect 2 devices at the same time. In addition to solar charging, the charging box also has a USB-C interface that can be charged through a charging cable. The headset will be available globally in the fourth quarter of this year for $149.

Moreover, Blue Tiger launched a solar-powered headset at CES 2022. The Powerfoyle solar cell technology used in the headset is also provided by Exeger, and the headset can be charged whether it is outdoors or indoors.
